Losing Confidence
losing confidence
the pen falters on the page,
hope dies as the words
lose their color.

holding the corner of the page,
to the flame's hungry tongues,
watching the paper
blacken to white,
in the flames thirsty light.

crying out the pain
burying the evidence
of the weaknesses
written within the ink,
the secrets still speak
within the swirling smoke.

secrets of heartbreak,
of unshed tears
silently pouring down
to drip in the hands.

secrets of life,
ideas of grandeur
covering up
secrets of death,
dreams lost in memory,
looking for release
from the chains of light.

Well done, conveys angst, compassion and hope all together. I 'm glad I came upon this, dude.

This is exquisite writing.  You have the essence of poetry in your soul.  The thing seems to be rooted in rhythm -- you instinctively know how to wander with words.  This is great! --David
