TO POETRY

It took some time for me to gain
One glimpse into your garden fair
But when you called me, fast I came,
Full-grateful youd allowed me there...

Where wells of words your mountain round
Then roll upon your river blue
And spring there phrases from your fount:
Your treasures tell the heart of you.

If eer to man your sea would show,
If would you so let down your veil,
Then first time mortal thing might know
The ever timeless tides you sail.

"The ever timeless tides you sail" ... a beautiful conclusion to a beautiful piece. To capture the raging fire that is poetry in such a calm, and peaceful way is simply fantastic. Well penned~

Another masterpiece from the master of words, both written & spoken. This would not feel the same without your voice, David. Thank you for sharing --Dean

TO POETRY my dear friend most certainly IS poetry.  Would that in my dreams I could write such beauteous prose.  Delicate as a fine wine to be savoured a sip at a time.  So eloquent - - so...you.  I am transported...
