Jack Kessler
Seven years ago,
to one small town
in the middle of nowhere,
came a man and his wife.
Standing tall in a suit and tie,
he came to a church,
in need of a Preacher.
The Jamestown Friends Meeting
listened to words spoke in passion
of the Lord and His son.
Soon the man
was as family
with the small congregation.
He came to teach,
helping the young at heart
and the young in age
to learn and be better
in the Teachings of the Lord.
This was a man
who came to be my friend,
always looking forward
to help the next in need,
never letting little things in life
avalanche into a stampede.
With us in tow,
he traveled 'round
after hurricane and storm,
to rebuild for those
who's need was dire.
He never lost sight
of the path to the Light,
keeping his head held high.
This was a man
whose hand was stained
by the soil he loved,
whose heart resounded
with music.
A man
whose name was Jack Kessler.
Pastor Jack my friend,
dedicated to Life and Truth,
was always cheerful 'til the end.
