A new year
What a year this has been
With a week left, I will not be sad to see it pass
Filed into history, with all of it's disappointments
No, I will not bore with political soap boxing
Everything is already self evident, no need to harp
Rather, let's look into the future with eyes wide open
With the lessons of the past still fresh in the mind
may we all learn from them and keep them
We keep making the same mistakes of judgment
If you don't remeber the past, you are doomed to repeat it
We need to learn tolerance, none of us are perfect
It is the human condition to have flaws
We must find the good in people, focus on strengths
Without dwelling upon the weaknesses, exploiting them
For the purposes of our own personal gain
There is already enough greed in this world
It is the one thing we as humans excel at, greed is easy
Caring for and about others shows character and strength
We need that show of strength, a unity to turn the tide
Or we will all be mired in greed and eventually drown in it
A new year is always a time for beginnings
To try to be better than we were the times before it
May we all show others more empathy and understanding
It's time to balance the scales, wipe the slates clean
A new year signals new hope, I pray we as humans do not waste it

Splendid work, Hank, a visionary look at what might still be possible, if we keep our eyes and ears open. I salute you, sir....esteemable job.

What a beautiful and straight-forward true statement of What Is!  How many can make such a through-flowing analysis that has so much glory?  Yes, the new year is a time to start again; even if we make just a little bit of progress it will seem like success, what?  Well all we can do is try to be better than were were, and with that i wish you and everyone at C-P a healthy and prosperous and happy and love-filled 2012!  --David

We as humans seem to relive the same traditions of the past.

Forgetting to learn from yesterday's failures again really fast.

Happy New Year Henry
