silently sliding over
the face of the river,
clouds of mist roll in,
obscuring the line
between the
percieved worlds.
in fleeting moments,
green and red lights slink
out of the billowing dark,
disapearing with a whisper,
an imaginary purr,
of powerful diesels
thrusting sleek dark vessels
ahead into the temporary void.
silence heralds it's aproach
just as the early morning sun
burns away
it's last grasping fingers,
creating a great golden mural
of under appriciated natural artistry.
Author's Notes:
one of the most interesting sights on the River, is the fog that rolls in at the break of night, and burns away in the breaking dawn.
