Your friends and I have the best of intentions.
You drink too much and this is an intervention.
When you get drunk, you have violent outbursts.
The more that you drink, the more it gets worse.
You once had a wonderful and loving wife.
But your drinking drove her out of your life.
Your friends are here because they truly care.
But seeing your outbursts makes them scared.
You're in a boat that's sinking, my friend.
Your life will end if your drinking doesn't come to an end.

A great job Randy, but I have to say that not every drunk person act like that, however, I agree with you 100% in this case.

Great poem.  Great Care.  Great advice... now... if your poor friend would/could only hear you.  I was once on his side of the fence -- like he is -- but thank G-d and my doctor, I got out from under it.  Haven't touched the stuff in YEARS.  I don't know what to say -- I'm sure you have tried to talk to him.  At any rate, a good poem often comes out of a distressing situation -- as it did here.  Your heart is in the right place.  --David
