Brothers/Sister in Arms

To all you boys and girls

Far from home out there

This is just a shout out to say

We remember and we care.

Hero is a word

Thatís lost all meaning in this age

But for some, YOU understand

YOU know the sacrifices made.

Come home with heads held high

Puff your chests out, show your pride

Wear your hearts upon your sleeves

Raise a glass to those that died.

But most of all be safe

As you get on with your task

To see you fit and well at home

Is the one thing that we ask.

An offered prayer for all of you

As you fight to free a nation

To one day tell your stories

Of how you brought about salvation.

Let me finish with a thank you

But only if allowed

To say to each and every one of you

I'm immeasurably proud.

Victor, A wonderful poem and it did give me an unexpected chill.  We may not love this war or that be we love our soldiers, our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins neighbors.  We want them all home safe. We want to let them know we missed them and loved them always. Bravo  Tina
