The Love of God

The Love of God  Frederick M. Lehman
Copyright:Public Domain
Verse 3
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

I remember the first time I read these words in an old hymn book.
Knowing I can't sing as well as others or write such powerful lines.
But the man in the mirror can always take another deeper look.
 My love compared to Gods' reveals only His is the forever kind.
Author's Notes:
Verse 3: Anonymous/Unknown
Was found  penciled on the wall of a narrow room in an insane asylum by a man said to have been demented. The profound lines were discovered when they laid him in his coffin.
I hope to meet that unknown writer one day and to thank him personally.

Check your scriptures .... you do not have to have a beautiful voice to sing praises to the Lord.
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord"

Noise!  Most people could do that if they tried.

Kind of makes you feel extremely small to the size of God's love.  Thanks for sharing this with us.  Does the rest of the poem exist?  If yes, where can we find it?
