As The Song Bird Sings

Listen carefully for the song birdís farewell

Scent of wild flowers ride late summer winds

Tall grass and solemn trees sway in unison

The new season will soon enough take its place

A soft emerald horizon speckled with warm colors

Natureís eternal rhythm moves deliberately forward

Time marches on, alright...My least favorite season is winter... The planet conspires to kill you off as a test as to whether you are strong enough to mate in the spring. There is a certain logic to the process...len

'As the Song Bird Sings' is a perfect pastoral.  Not too short and not (thank God) too long.  Words roll smoothly like the easy changes in the seasons.  I guess we all get somewhat affected by the coming of the Fall, what?  Great poem.  Thanks.

Nature is indeed a wonder, fall is when she is at her most wonderous.   Henry

This feels like it's made up of bold, strong colors, and it evokes autumn well.
