With fingers crossed and eyes shut tight.
We wish on a star on that lonely night.
Just two lost souls under the evening sky.
Can we share a bond that will never die?
I have always hoped before time erased.
To meet one friend that can't be replaced.
Friends have past by and some just let go.
Shouldn’t they be precious without the gold?
Some people live for the pomp and affluence.
You’re listed in their minds as just a nuisance.
Real treasure nests in the hearts of friendship.
True wealth is in sharing a selfless relationship.
Too many people say " I love you” out there.
Words forgotten shortly after casually shared.
Now I have discovered a true friend for life.
And hugs to see beyond the pain and strife.
I never did believe friends could be so close.
A better medicine without the everyday dose.
It's so wonderful to know you really do care.
Your heart is an addiction and willing to share.
Friendship is the salve that heals a heart betrayed.
The anointment is rare and precious Jesus will say.
It heals the wounds and scars of any Judas always.
And all the Peter's that denied us by walking away.
I returned home to scuttle last night's dream.
We are now brush strokes in a colorful scene.
That world we wish for is now a front row seat.
Our precious friendship is beautifully complete!
No more silence ringing inside my ears.
No more time for wringing out past years.
Some days still start out lonely with paper and pen.
Then a voice will remind me I have a forever friend.
