Weary Heart

I don't want to write about you,

because I've already wasted enough time,

enough time of tears and sadness

and pointless round and round,

to nowhere i've been bound.

You'll hold me in your arms and never tire,

you'll tell me i'm beautiful and then I am beautiful,

you let me feel like it's alright to take my barriers down,

and without a fort,

when you throw the arrows, in trouble, I'm caught.

I just want to close my eyes in your arms

and remember how it used to be,

don't pull away from me, don't shake your head,

because you told me to fall asleep in your arms a hundred times,

just pretend you care, do anything, just mime.

You hurt me with arrows to the trust and the heart you opened,

you say I'm stressing you

shall I say i'm sorry that I'm crying when it's you that made me cry?

You can't have meant the words you said,

I wish they were dead but they're through my head instead.

All I want is your arms around me

It's not too much to ask after how you hurt me.

How can it be wrong now when it was always so right?

Don't pull away from me, don't shake your head,

don't fill my weary heart with dread.

Months of your life just wiped out

how to trust again,

should hold my head up, shouldn't feel worthless

although worthless is how you made me feel

when you made what we had not real.

Not real, how I know that feeling wasting years on someone who never loved me only pretended.  You'll find better and he's just not worth those tears.  Good Luck, a good write.  Tina
