Waiting on Closure
Son I touch your portrait hanging on the wall
My hot tears begin to flow fast like a water fall.
My first gift from heaven was wrap up in a boy.
You were my first one ever and a bundle of joy.

Oh what laughing eyes with that peak a boo smile.
I still hear a voice calling "MomĒ once in a while.
Your home coming to God was hard to comprehend.
Unannounced on that day our world came to an end.

I walk the floors to make sure youíre really gone.
My mind plays back sometimes our nursery song.
Yet I cannot numb all the pain with time that I feel.
That brief moment I held you still seems so surreal.

Your name rang out in heaven on that day you died.
I've called for my baby a million times and then I cry.
We had no time for goodbyes the day you went away.
And just like back then the tears still come easy today.

You now behold the glory of God on the other side.
Jesus one day will wipe the tears that I have cried.
The memory of you lives here in your motherís heart.
God will reunite us one day with a brand new start.

Then a soft voice from heaven asks God once again.
Please reach down and squeeze my motherís hand.

The world would call this a young and untimely death.
God would say this was His plan and a blessed event.

Author's Notes:
Brother Ken slip away from us over 40 years ago today.
Life hasn't been the same for all it seems like yesterday.
The hands that tried to hold you up are now forever yours.
The rest of us will join you one day Godís word reassures.

Absolutely heartrending, powerful, and oh so beautifully expressed.. I so know this feeling. Lost many throughout and my sister is soon to pass.. You write with heart and soul my friend.. As always your words bring forth the feeling of power as only you can do. My heart and prayers go out to you..

Heart wrenchingly beautiful read. Some departures because of their very nature, will remain ever so fresh in our minds. Thank you for sharing Dan, ~Dean

A heartbreaking story but beautifully written. There is nothing more tragic than the death

of an innocent child. I am glad your mother has a strong faith to help her cope.

This was so heartwrenching, but beautiful. When you are reunited with your boy, in Heaven, remember, there will be no more pain, suffering or tears, in a place, infinitely better than here!
