Portent of Endings
Hanging to a thread of remembrance
consequences fall across the world
Tryng to find the heart of redemption
and only the legacy of cold deceit awaits
Here where headstones stand in a bitter wind
the air filled with roiling and bitter smokes
cascading from a sky of tattered grey
The cracked arch of our dreams falls
in this place of implacable solitudes
Where a soul may sink and drown
beneath a deluge of unbearable futility

Binding thought to the whims of chance
we await the long clean fate decending
In this moment of history standing pure
framed in the language of eternal heroes
Can we know when to slip the mask
and face reality's cold stern glare
Revealing ancient lies built in anger
and the searing blinding fires of hate
Where redemption's cool and healing balms
echo down the long midnight halls
to fade and die in the loneliness of shadows

Generations will sing dirges of longing
in hope of fruits from long barren wombs
As the pleading unborn eyes look on
at our last and futile desecrations
The last lies told to our children
not us..not us...not ever us
we did nothing to give this ending birth
In arrogance we abandon ourselves
and rail at the solitudes we find
ignoring all signs and gravid portents
on the road to humanity's grave

Well, that's definitive....and very accurate, as there will many, upon whom, the eternal sun will never shine. End of days kinda stuff, eh? Well done.
