Old Friend
Do not come here old friend
if you speak sad tidings
I was there and saw a stallion dance
on horizons sunlit sweep
but there are no more dances now
bones gleam in fields now barren
while dust blows down a hungry wind

Do not come here old friend
if you sing cold dirges
I was there and heard the chorus grow
in a wild sea of butterflies
But there is no more chorus now
wings lie in brittle harmonies
while rains run down an angry rill

Do not come here old friend
if you point to harsh snows
I was there and felt light crystals bloom
and flash through a rising morning
But there are no more crystals now
snow fields lie in shadow
while fissures crack the land's soil

Awesome Tom!

The harsh world beyond the loss
of youth oozes between the lines. "Youth is wasted on the young” is a lost metaphor
-no fault to the pen that wrote it.

But man! To have those days back!
The limitless horizons, the unchanging continuum, the effortless access to
inspiration, and all the antimatter of these.

To be there with future sight,
could we have moved forward? least we lose
the incremental precious moments?

No, the river Tempus flows; and
we must enjoy the eddies and rapids, until Rauros drowns the flame forever.

Thomas..... So vivid every verse and it tells a sad story....

Weather is changing..... all over the world.....seasons come now with a different feel in the winds ...

AS always I try to understand your thoughts most of the time....((Smilessss
