A Small Soul goes home
Creation's whims dance
and fall as they may
This delicate Flower
now pale
Where abundant life
sprang from a well of love
shadowed now
by a death stalking
The tears wept
by a mother's eyes
As a Father looks away
in the pain of loss
Murmered goodbyes
as a man in black prays
Candles gleam
as the moment gathers
and with a faint and final breath
a small soul goes home

Author's Notes:
This is for all the little ones who never made it to adulthood...whether from War, Abuse, Crime or Desease...may you all rest in that long and final peace.

Emotive penning Thomas. Heavy are the hearts who have lost children--a loss one never gets over. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt poem. Nicely said!

My goodness how so very sad this poem it clutches ones heart to read ...

Our small children are our precious gifts from God and when  there abused in any form I really get on a soap box.....

So many have lost their children and that burden is a heavy coat of sad emotions.....
