True Love, co-write with Barbara Demasson
A false love lived on a one way street
Where time between sheets was incomplete
But a first kiss uncovered my soul
An emotional waterfall cascaded out of control

My present joy is born of true love
In an angel's arms, sent from above
My eyes aglow, hope has checked in
Past love gone to the town of Has Been

Before us is a tapestry created by two
A weave of heartstrings, long overdue
An old lover's lies are cast away
Heartache replaced by a fresh start today

A heart will not suffer permanent defeat
Total commitment makes love complete
In the world there is just one of you
A sole physical coupling will never do

Author's Notes:

One thing I love about this site is everyone’s poetry displays their own uniqueness in writing. And to hone ones skills with another talented writer contributes to our own personal creativeness.  Thanks Barbara.

Well Dan, we finally got it finished. Thank you for your patience while writing this and for being flexible where additions/editing was concerned. I'm sure there are a lot of left over bits on the cutting room floor. Thank you for writing with me.
