Phantom Spirit Whispers
Faint was the desert breeze with the odorous breath
of baby orchid blooms with the heat of dawning
and with numberless suspended clouds

Pendulous were all the tiny painted humming birds
flitted from blossom to blossom with silent magic
with descending visions of celestial butterflies

Beautiful is this land with the bluest of heavens
twinkling vapors arose melted with grace
and mingled together motionless
with inexpressible words

Seemed to me the enchanted ground with mysterious splendor
as the beautiful desert plants swayed gently and sighed
with peaceful audible phantom spirit whispers

The desert does seem to have phantom spirt whispers. At the right time of year it can be so beautul with new flowers. You paint this scene so well in your poem.

This just carries me away to the desert and makes me wonder why I thought Florida was the only place to live. I like this, India. ML
