Dawning
Before Day's Dawning
in my landscape of living
I walk......as I often do
through this cathedral of solitude
this is my prayer
to creation
and God is here
with no priests attending
to wield power and obedience
in a blight on creation's heart
Here this Church unfolds
bedecked in the jewels of Heaven
and the rising light

and in that numinous hush
where nature holds it's breath
in that final dark
before the gleam
it begins
laving my ears with wonder
a symphonic tide of birdsong
and above ancient trees
a cacophony of rooks
roiling and tumultuous
a wheeling ballet in the sky

And in these first lances of light
webs of gossamer and filegree dance
on tangled spines of Gorse
and brume seeps and bleeds
down shadowed fells and screes
leaving pinnacled hills
clear and stark....
islands in a sea of mist
Dew drops shimmer
iridescent and rainbowed
in a rising breeze
I gaze to the east
annointed by the moment
This turning cycle
dark to light and light to dark
time's flowing river reaching....
onward to seas of eternity

Could there be any more beautiful and sacred of cathedrals?
I think not, beautiful and awe-inspiring. Much enjoyed, a true blessing to receive.

My favorite lines: all of them.

Sir Thomas..... Just had to read this poem again...I love to walk in the dawning and the twilight.....

I see and feel so much....Its hard to express or write....

Some people just don't understand Mother Nature....I have Cherokee and Commanche blood in

my veins..... So I must have nature....Mother nature is my Mother

She listens and she understand me..I was born under a full moon

so the moon is my Father....

My Indian name is .. Velvet Raven

That why your first poem over took my woman emotions....

You never did reply  so I hope I did not offended you in any matter ...
