Peaceful guilt

Right here right now my life is really good.
The family are all fit and well, I'm enjoying work and life in my little bubble is peachy.

It's been a long time coming, I and the family deserve this time of peace that we're submerged in.

But outside of my bubble, now that's a different story!

Outside of my bubble, two workmates have had heart attacks.
My daughters’ partner has been sent to Libya.
My nephew who is an American citizen has been sent to the Pakistan, Afghan border for his first tour of duty.
Crime in my area is through the roof.
Many of my friends have lost their jobs as the government’s cuts take hold.

On the news an old couple are brutally murdered in their own home.

Japan has and is facing its worst problems in generations.

The whole world is falling apart!

It makes me sick.

For the first time in a very long while, my life is good.

And I feel guilty.

As long as we have health there is always something to be thankful for.

Don't....  You deserve what you have. I feel guilty as well, looking at the world.  But it also keep you grounded and real. Heartfelt and I know where you are coming from.

The fact that you feel guilty is the best proof possible that you are a good man, Henry.

The world has always been falling apart. The world has always been strife and war.The world has always been men of power sending children to fight their wars and die, without those children ever understanding what they're dying for. The world has always been full of catastrophe and mass-suffering.

The world also has always been a haven for romantic love and the innocent children who result from that love. In the heyday of Hitler, the planet was frozen by stark terror by the specter of total destruction, more than any other time in history, even more than the Cuban Missile Crises.

We have to live our lives, knowing the perils of the world, while planting our own seeds of love and hope. Life is not dictated by the headlines of the day. The world is made of the works of good people, one person at a time....len

Absolutely no reason for you to feel guilty John, the world always has and always will have problems so enjoy the peaceful times while they last.   Henry
