Strong at heart

The past is the past

Let sleeping dogs lie

All things come out even

Within the mind's eye

To have the capacity

The power to forgive

Let bygones be bygones

Live and let live

Your heart will mend

Just as it has before

Don't set the bridge afire

Keep ajar the door

Allow the possibility

That love will re-enter

It's what keeps you going

An emotional center

Initial reaction is

To use revenge as a tool

Past experiences say

That is the wisdom of a fool

It is said

Inaction is a mark of the weak

My view is

It's maturity at it's peak

Rise above it

Don't wallow in the mud or slime

There are so many fish in the sea

You'll learn that in time

Once it is seen

Just how well you've adjusted

They will soon realize

                                 Only their heart was busted

Being the bigger person sometimes is the hardest thing in the world...and forgiving the one that has intentionally and callously broken your heart can be impossible. However, it CAN be done...I know, because I've had to do it time and time again in various circumstances where my heart has been involved. Whether in matters of lovers or in matters of life in general, this is good advice.

I don't know who this is for, but it is truly a write of encouragement, and I hope that it uplifts the one that it was written for.

We all possess the "power to forgive" and it is something that liberates the person who exercises forgiveness BUT I find it impossible to forgive someone who isn't truly sorry for the damage they have caused. I find these phrases are very often used (casually) to let the guilty party off the hook by prodding the wounded to be the bigger person. Just my take on true, there are many fish in the sea but they are not emotionally attached and are different than the specific fish that broke the other fish's heart.

I Agree with you but sometimes words can be very simple, but doing it is something totally different

loved the poem though
