Stones Steps

                                                                                Stone Steps

He got off the train into penn station

Adjusted his tie and set of for the stone steps

He was to find her

The sunset that got away

It was either do or die

He wasn’t sure of how she react

She did not expect him.

What he hoped for was a chance to talk

Not a chance to show up and walk away

He just wanted one last chance to say goodbye

Goodbye to the pain she brough him

It was a chance for him to finally let go

He aproached those stone steps and entered the union of the nations

Sat down in row F seat 3

Listened to her speech

He said an empty hello to her

The feeling was mutual

A glare of shock and awe

The man said "Im not dead, I love you and I just wanted to say goodbye I have three weeks left and I just wanted to say goodbye”

The woman stopped and before she could say a word

He left.

That pretty much sums up how I felt when I returned to Vietnam after seeing my former girlfriend for the last time.  There was no turning the pages of life back

Nice, but sad
