Wasted Years
She had become so very, very lost
in her own confessional
wounded heartaches

Struggling to free her tangled mind
from so many stupid mistakes

Could just his  healing mortal kiss erase
wasted years of verbal lies
with life's nasty taste

So late in her life to start over again
would it just be somehow
a total waste

They say sometimes in life to appreciate
what real love is all about

We must not always listen to our mind
when the mortal heart with love
want's to shout

If I were only free to say what is in my mind right now, you'd know just how powerful this statement is.  To receive unconditional true love is one of the most important aspects of healing in an abused person's life.  Verbal, physical or whatever.  Love is the greatest healer.   What was taught as love to many abused people was wrong.  It was filth.  A new, true trust needs to be developed and with it will come true love.  This is why betrayal in love is so dangerous in life.  This is why as a parent it is so important to teach your children correctly.  They will pass what you teach on to their children, and they theirs as being truth in life.  This is why an abused person so often becomes an abuser.  This was taught to them as normal so there is nothing wrong with it.  There is no need to change.  It is all they know.

would it just be somehow

a total waste

Receiving love and giving love is never a waste.

Very, Very powerful message in this poem

Move over and take a number, lady.  I've made my share of mistakes... too bad I couldn't patent "Error".  But isn't that what life is all about?  Ups, downs... we learn, we fall in and out of love, laugh, cry, and remember.... We will not always use reason.  More often than not, we listen to logic, or our heart, and neither are in sync with the other.  I really like this.  Hits the old nail right on the head.
