Sleeping Smiles

His tired eyes closing to the awakening sun,
the old, stately, gentleman of the moon
slowly pulls the horizon over his head,
to sleep unseen beneath the covers of daylight.
Tonight will come soon enough
and he will dance with the midnight clouds once more.
But, for now, a peaceful slumber.

I too am a devoted moon lover and always enjoy a poem about this big yellow ball of light.

Great imagery with these lines:

gentleman of the moon

slowly pulls the horizon over his head,

to sleep unseen beneath the covers of daylight.
