Another Day

Another day

Unclosed curtains bear the waking sun

Pairing with solemn rainfall

Vicious traffic challenges more vicious traffic

And eventually merging

Louder louder until numbness

Overpowers the strain

Open door

Just another motion

In yet another day

It means nothing

Streets alive

Tempting the curiosity of the new

Gone 8’o clock

Witness they be still

And the day be yet another

Bound together in a classy way

Or just alone

Either way

Blanketing the ground

A carpet of forgotten

Abandoned novelties move ably to the rhythm of distressed winds

Varied movement

So surreal

Just to stop

And gaze

And think

And see

How something so vulgar

Can be so beautiful

Then to shrug it off

And forget

The block of motion approaches

Neither welcoming nor hostile

Just there

All colour and trash and alone

An uncanny resemblance

Scars of red

Sliced into the arms

Foul fragrance coats the rotting skeleton

Blank minds within are each a repetitive knock to the head

And suddenly isolated

Surrounded by twelve

Thirteen other people

All alone

And suffering in other people’s silence

Waiting for the classy trash to draw closer

To envelope this place

With the unique sound

And scent

So on arrival

All concentration is lost

And all focus is on

The high

Taking centre stage

Moments pass

And it’s gone

To set upon now

Are the precious minutes

Of what could have been

All this from a walk to the bus stop! Great stuff.
