Aging comes whether we welcome it or resist it.  It comes like a freight train racing down the tracks, out of control.  It slides into the station, braking and screeching, stopping at   unfamiliar places.  A strange land of discovery awaits. We have new choices to make.  We have decisions to mull over.  We must choose whether to explore these new places farther or to sit on the sidelines and observe from afar.

Opportunities abound, some missed the first time around, others better relegated to the past.  This is the time of second chances.  This is a time of releasing, of letting go of regrets, of creating life anew.  As new choices present themselves, change in inevitable.

I hope for the wisdom that the years have promised.   No more broken promises, no more unfulfilled dreams, no more procrastinating.  No regrets. I ask for the strength to keep on when the future seems uncertain.  Let me be up to the challenge.
