A jamieson whim: golf poker I: in memory of jones, hogan & snead
Robert, Ben and Sam liked to play Poker.
However, they loved Golf.
In this game of Golf Poker I
each placed upon
the coveted green cloth
the ante, "Balance".
Sam up the ante and added,
Ben met Sam's gamesmanship and added,
Bobby, seeing his chance, saw with
"Pace & Accuracy".
The Game
The cards represent eighteen (18) holes
comprised in four (4) suits of fifty-two (52) cards
with an additional five (5) wild cards
to complete the eighteen (hole) representation.
The Deck
A Deck represents a major golf course like Pebble Beach.
There are four (4) Decks to be purchased to complete the
"Grand Slam Collection
of Golf Poker".
The Pebble Beach Deck has been broken for
Golf Poker I.
The Play
The five (5) wild cards represent statistically
the five (5) most difficult holes on the course.
The remaining cards represent statistically
the remaining holes by difficulty of play.
Play is quicker.
Each player's chance of winning is increased.
This allows for more exciting play
with more play possibilities.
Completion of Golf Poker I
Who won?
Following the completion of the hand
Sam got up and noted,
"We've each played the holes.
The cards laid it out for us."
Tipping his hat,
Sam adds with a big grin,
"Now, I think, it's time we played the course."
Ben agreed.
Bobby just smiled.
He knew another great game
was in the making.
Jamieson from Palm Beach
where you're only a breeze away
from any Caribbean Golf Course.
Author's Notes:
