Game over.
I made a mistake..

In thoughts of wonder
And dreams of splendor
I held my arms out.

Images from eyes blinded, closed, with fear
Became suddenly opened
Love, powerful and joyful, took control
A heart grown cold, now felt heat
Fantasizes became reality
To grasp and hold closely to my chest.

Oh the passion of forgiveness..
The joy...

Do I dare let myself feel again?

And I felt my answer come quickly
Yes!

For what is there if not to forgive?
To let oneself become free of our man made shackles?
To dream the dream of all the splendor before us?
Hold out our hand to the one that shows us the light?

Ahhh, so sad..

The heart is a silly thing, don't you think?
The mind, and I send forth a small chuckle
For the mind is a funny thing.
Believing what we wish of it
Like a game of Chance, it moves about the board
On a stage we perform, day after day, night after night
And we, sadly, are just mere puppets with strings that slowly untie.

Till we can perform no more
For the curtain has slowly come down
And the darkness has now descended upon us.

Check mate
Game over.

You won!

Moonie

A player in the game of love never wins.  He or she grow old and his/her soul shall become empty.  One Day a player shall meet his match and be totally taken off guard and loose everything including his pride

Well written, demonstrating how that life truly is like a giant chess board...and we're mere pawns on the squares. The game of "life" and the game of "love" often leave us feeling beaten and manipulated...

Well done as always...

Hugs to ya...

As sad as this seems to be, there is also some light in it as well as you declare that you will indeed let yourself feel again! So out of the darkness comes some hope for better days and while you think you may be in checkmate, the game is not over yet.  Hugs,   Henry

don't go tipping over your king quite yet - me thinks the lovely lunar lady has plenty more moves against this player.

Game over for that PLAYER but the board is open for suitors worthy of the fair Queen Moonie's dainty hand.  Lovely poem Moonie.

Dark this is although it starts out light. Kinda like my poem "Trust Me." that a poem written by one whom I admire greatly  as a writer wrote which inspried me to write the aforementioned poem. Did the subject of this poem really win? I think not. Good write by the way you have lost none of your verve.
