Stories on the Pages

~The Brightest Star~

Many times Iíve crossed the lines

Then searched for my way back

So deep inside my soul had died

From a superficial crack

Forever I have fought this world

Always quick to raise my fist

But my anger got me nowhere

Now I've walked out of that mist

I have put my attitude away

And fight with thoughts instead

The best way I can find the answers

Is to get inside my head

So to the place of inner peace

These wings began their flight

Delivered to the crystal palace

Where I stood before the light

My stories told upon these pages

While so many more remain

This is something I must do

So their efforts weren't in vain

Thanking God I turned around

He has sent me on my way

Silent he was always there

Just waiting for that day

So remember as you live your life

Each days a brand new start

And the brightest star that's ever shined

Stays lit within your heart

~Windows~

Some are born with vision

While some will remain blind

But each and every one of us

Has the right to speak their mind

Some would like to be the voice

That speaks for me and you

Some would like to think they are

One of the chosen few

You can lead the pack

Or only follow where they walk

You could be the shepherd

Or just blend in with the flock

We all live at different levels

Yet came from the same dominions

So we tend to fight and argue

About our thoughts and our opinions

I may not agree with everything

That I might need to hear

But I will listen to you

With an honest open ear

See some live under gray skies

And others under blue

So each of us has windows

With completely different views

~Wardens Universe~

Falling in the fire as flames are growing hotter

The sheep wander blindly towards the slaughter

While prophets thirst for knowledge of existence

And poets continue writing with persistence

Ignorance is consumed by a transparent mind

Thatís painted by the portrait society designed

Holograms of mankindís past abominations

Reflections and mirages of manmade creations

As we face the appearance of a devastating dawn

For decadence and corruption we routinely spawn

This life we were granted was written on a lease

Now being terminated as we dine within the beast

So trails that we blazed leading to promised lands

Dissipated like water in the hourglasses sands

Progress becomes more like a god given curse

As we float on this prison in the wardens universe

Author's Notes:
This is one of my favorite songs! My son did back this one back when he would use some of
my poems as lyrics. My son's actually quite a writer himself today and rarely uses my words anymore
but I sure love the songs he made at that time when he did. Whenever I am not quite feeling right, I can play this song and it always seems to give me a lift. The reason for that is because of how Jimmy translated these words. The paragraph he chose as the main chorus to relate the songs message is something that brings this song close to my heart. Please listen to the song closely.
Any of you who write from the soul will REALLY relate to this one!!!
Peace~
James
