It Means Forever

As I write this my head leans back and I am in the darkness

Uncontrolled feelings flow through me deep in to my soul

Am I alive something struck me straight through the heart

She reached out to hold me I slip down and keep falling so far

Always the one I wanted free of all other things only what I need

Itís a journey that seems so far away from memories and hope

I see sorrow and I feel hate these emotions are lifted from me

Now life slowly moves around showing me what I need to sacrifice

Author's Notes:
A man is sitting a chair,  falls asleep and begins to dream. He is feeling emotions from past relationships that didn't go well and concerned it will have an affect on his new found love.  He is determined to move on and accept what he has for what it can be.

WE are our experiences...You can't block out the ones you find convenient...LIke an aging fighter, the more bouts we have with love, the more scars we carry. But then again....women think scars on a man are COOL.. :o)..len

Some past relationships never leave us it seems. 'It Means Forever', is an apt title for this dream filled poem.

Dear Steve....I have always believed that true poetry comes from the poet's deepest part of their heart...I could feel each and every painful experience within your lines...Even though there is anguish, there is thoughts of a new beginning....Enjoyed the write...

Your poem was very moving.  I'm not sure I understand all of it, but it the intensity and what a special moment of discovery this was for you.  Great poem Steve!

It seems this poem is filled with emotional turmoil...the journey isn't easy but having hope makes it easier.
