Into the night

On high velocity vectors
We force speed into directions
And length into magnitude
As we, its advents
Merge momentous horizons

We slide through the skies
And crush mighty waves
Only to smother the sun
In the salty scented foam
As the light dies in descending shades

Into our human nature we plunge
A life poetic and wild
Navigating ourselves
Pulled from constellations
To constellational exile

As the heavens fall from their height
Upon our frontal lobes
We are crowned
With the glittering stars,
The steering rod and the compass globe

Slowly the map unfolds
As our tracks dispel the mist
Upon flat-out space
With its shimmering fluid surface
And promise of a hidden gist

Singing the dolphin
And like a butterfly dream
We throw sails to the winds
The pull of ropes test our wills
Muscles mighty and lean

There! In the abysmal blind
A screaming gem
A momentary pearl
That might have been, perhaps even was
A warning of mayhem

We head through the blackness
The darkness, the danger
Upon the promise
Of a single beam of light
That flashes for the knowing stranger

All throughout the night

Exquisite poetry!
The meter works beautifully, truly made me feel as if I was sailing with you.
This amazing write will surely go to my faves.

You've captured the danger of the sea for sure. I liked your lines: "Singing the dolphin
And like a butterfly dream
We throw sails to the winds
The pull of ropes test our wills
Muscles mighty and lean "
