Prophets Of The Modern Age
Prophets Of The Modern Age

Why does it always have to be
With prophets of the modern age,
When sharing wisdom of the soul,
Each says he is the greatest sage?

They claim to hear the voice of God,
Saying His will is what they speak.
For their way is the only way,
To gain salvation for the meek.

Some tell us only they can lead,
And guide the lost along their way.
They pretend to be Apostles,
Sent by the Lord, to save the day.

Have you known one to be humble?
They are the best of us, you see.
Though sometimes they will shut you out,
If you should ever disagree.

Thereís always something wrong with those
Who refuse to be converted.
And should you not accept their truth,
Then your thinking is perverted.

Though Jesus said, HE is the way,
The only Shepherd of the flock,
These prophets say, we still need them,
To teach Godís faithful how to walk.

Beware of wolves who dress like lambs,
Preaching salvation from a stage.
Donít let yourself be led astray
By prophets of the modern age.

My brother says:  traps do not look like traps to the animal that they are designed to ensnare.  I agree with your assessment.  Tristan
