Three Constellations
Three constellations
Shine over my life.
At the first - and last -
High and bright
In thec dead of Winter.
Throughout the hard middle years,
The Great Square of Pegasus
Carrying me
On his strong back
Over  life's
Sea of troubles
And away from its
Slings and arrows.
At the end, unexpectedly rising
Out of Autumn's gloom,
The eight stars of Orion.
Beautiful, eternal,
Its blue  and red stars
Westering into the copper suphate blue
Of Spring twilights.
O these unexpected stars
Are the most wonderful of all.
Unlooked for
And inexplicable;
The glory of the firmanent,
Turning with me
Through the years
To the end of years
As I measure my right declination
To the precise minute and second.
Author's Notes:
To all the people who are the stars in my life.
Note: Right ascension and declination are what astronomers use to precisely locate objects on a celestial map, and are equivalent to the imaginary lines of longitude and latitiude used in maps of the earth.

What a beautiful metaphor, to link stars to those in your life that have shined upon you. Adding this to my favorites.
I loved every bit of this stellar poem.
