Dead Words
Dead Words  There was just nothing left but truthful ashes
in this smoldering fire that's trying to go out

Trapped in his loneliness to bitter cold
looking for words that must shout

Endless words are thoughts that explain
trying to tell their lover of their pain

Read in between the poetic lines
of a love poem that he sent

Then you will understand his love sorrow
that he just have had to somehow vent

  Teardrops stained the parchment paper
as he bowed his troubled head

Trying to write another love letter
before all the words were dead

all words serve a meaning in life, from our first to our last.   often love words hurt us harder than most because we take them so personal.  your poem shows how these words get into our hearts and effect us to keep writing.   my first poem I've read here.

This piece reached right into my heart. The lines

Endless words are thoughts that explain
trying to tell their lover of their pain

reached right in and grabbed a hold. All who write to help ease the pain of unreturnd or lost love will be able to relate to this write. The emotion in the write is palpable.
