Still Dreaming

Sit back and wonder more

See it, feel it and open up the door

When you were young and still dreaming

Wishes and hopes still had some meaning

Times moves us and we are all about living

Now it seems like too much taking and no giving

I want to; I have to do more than just survive

Put your hand in mine so I can again feel alive

Surviving is what we do when we have to----to go beyond that is to LIVE....This piece should be a wonderful "wake up" call to many that feel that work is the key, never really living!.....Lots of hopes and dreams within these lines, Steve....Truly enjoyable...

Oh yea, the message is loud and clear, and we need to listen to ourselves when we start  to feel as though we are only going through the motions to get through the day.  Love, in the traditional sense,
means a great deal less to me than it used to. What I have learned, is that love can be squeezed through almost every aspect of daily life, in some form. My children, flowers I grow, scrubbing the floor...all of it. It is filling, repairing, and calming. So many forms of it, so many ways to accept it.  Surviving, is easier when love surrounds us.
Soft and well said.

" I have to do more than just survive"...for sure...for what is life without love? Survival. I hear this...been there, done I really understand your closing line. Great message!

A beautiful piece of writing, Steve...You're so right. We get so entrenched in trying to live that we forget to be ALIVE!

Great work!
