Feel me beneath your bark mighty oak

I step barefoot into your strength
Where trust lights the way

To a spacious void

Where I dance carefree

Sashay, sway, twirl

My copper strands splay

Smooth silk swishes of pleasure

Covered with a talc of cheer

My featherweight toes tickle you

As I gracefully flit within your core

My voice echoes through your rings

A song-bird singing a trill melodic poem
Every note proclaims love

With fingers sworn to tenderness

I scatter affection's scented petals

So the perfume of each generous toss

Will seep into your pores

I thrive on substance

At the center of your being

As I bed within your dormant soul

I long for your love

To awaken

Your words are woven together like silken ribbons, a gift for those that read it.  Congratulations on a well deserved award from a long time friend and fan.

I really like the images here Barbara, and the metaphores on soul and love.. Reminded me of the passage in Tolkin introducing the Ents.. There's a sycamore outside my bedroom window and I've watched it grow day by day along side of my family, its as much part of my life now as my cats and my kids!  Nice work..

The imagry here is absolutely amazing Barbara! You remind me of the one and only person I can say I should be ashamed of the way it ended. Love never awakened. I think that's why I have been cursed to feel the same way everytime I find someone now. I can feel the light heartedness in this poem as well as the overwelming love and the slight abandonment of love being there but not present.

it is incredible when two poets fall in love and express their emotions so eloquently...this piece resonates with tenderness...and with electricity that seems to jump from heart to heart.

*Sigh*.....Ms. Demasson, this is truly a delicate, intriguing look at softness in emotion to strength beyond imagination....There are great visuals and the reader is able to actually "touch" the environment...Awesome work, my poetic friend~!!  I congratulate you with applause as your work is truly award winning~!
Maggie......a friend in words....

This was a wonderful way to weave my way back here at CP. Your writing abilities have not diminished at all, in fact, I would say they have graduated to a whoel new scale. You get an A for this my dear...word choices, phrases, were allowing the reader to sink into this, as I see we all did! What nice thoughts these are to start the day with..

This poetic beauty just took my breath away....  You write with your heart and do magic with words!  It feels to me now that i was fortuned to have gazed at a treasure and in my describing it afterwards i would only be able to talk of all the wonders in it....

marvelous - love the way this flows - the capriciousness of beauty swirling about the sturdiness of the mighty oak.  your choice of fonts is the perfect compliment, too.  so replete with wonderful images....
