~`~*Another Lady Lost *~`~
For all those who struggle with a one way marriage and to all the divorcees. I envy you for your  inner strength and for loving yourself enough to fight for self-worth. I know it is hard, but it is possible.
In the midst of making him happy

She got lost along the way

Sacrificing each ounce that made her whole

 A costly prize she paid

First it was her childhood friends

Soon, advancing to family

Then surrendering her strong will pride

And then her dignity

 She stopped doing for herself

A laborer at his service

That seemed to be taken for granted

And hardly ever noticed

Years had passed and away it took

That lady that she’d preferred

The one who liked to always be seen

In the mirror as she looked for her

But she is now just a servicer

No longer a person or bride

Refused to love herself enough..

and Living for just her guy

She now back tracks the roads she tread

Searching for her missing pieces

In hopes to put herself back together again

Thank God for second chances

Sheri your such a giver but then there is always the taker.

I think in the long run you will never give  love second best

I have seen so many people who fit this poem Sheri, they have sacrificed their own self worth to cater to the insecurities of the one who supposedly "Loves" them. But it isn't really love they crave, it is a matter of "Controlling" the other until they succumb to their wishes. Only those of great strength can break free of the grip thyat is placed on their minds. Great poem Sheri.  Hugs,   Henry

Dear Lord Sheri, it seems you just described my life! The way it was throughout my marriage. Reading your words I was taken back to that place and person I had become long ago. it's hard to tell yourself it's happening, then one day you look in that mirror and you are that person.. Years pass and the one you loose is yourself.. This was amazing! If words were available then to describe what I was feeling, then these would have been them...  Travis said it all too. it takes years to find yourself again to love yourself to be able to let others in. Still working on that, but slowly getting there..

My pretty, this one you nailed straight as a pin..

I have only experienced one sided love, with words that desolved in the heat of the day.

This made me cry, and wonder will it ever be a real Love? or does life just mess with us as a joke

Awesome write

When love and relationships are one sided, there is inevitably going to be heartbreak somewhere along the way. This is an incredibly touching and heartbreaking write, but also a write of hope.

Well written...

a sad but all-too-real reflection of what happens in many relationships - and it happens to men just as much as it does to women.  wonderful job of putting it into perspective.
