When the Day is Over - For Glata

When the Day is Over

~For Glata

When the final ray of sunshine
slips slowly from the western sky,
taking with it heart's discov'ry
and leaving there a tearing eye,

such calls this present summertime
the first grapes made the finest wines,
the singer strummed her final chords -
the poet wrote her final lines.

This poets' den where rhymes call home
can with a new life be replaced,
when cherished peace will fill her heart
with love this child will be embraced.

Where will her artist's thoughts take form
now that her new life has begun?
Prayer is where her dreams are written;
love remains when the day is done.

When our hands part with joyful tears,
now life and care, and love, are one,
bent knees, heads bowed, our last prayers fall,
all memíries with Life's thread are spun.

Tomorrow is what itself brings,
Life blooms beyond the poets' cloud,
Creator's love transcends the time,
trite quotes no longer are allowed.

Forever will our hearts unite
and bond there at the altar's stone,
held not by stories that we write
but threads of love our hearts were sewn.

So this is where the tale will end,
directing lives toward destiny,
for here we made and held our friends --
she wrote her thoughts and they touched me.

What a beautiful dedication for a beautiful lady with a heart made of gold, if I know Glata, she is just as thrilled as can be about being a Grandmother. Nice dedication here Tristan.   Henry

Beautiful piece Tristan...

Glata will absolutely love this! She is such a special person and sister in heart to me and all. I know she is not leaving us, but her time will be shorter than normal now that her life is so hectic.. Your words soothing as they are and so softly touching has opened such a path of love for all those of us that know her.. You captured the true essence of the real Glata. The one I so deeply love and proudly call my sister!

Wonderful job on this..

Hugs,

Moonie xx

Oh, thank you so much, Tristan! This is a very touching write that you've dedicated to me, and I thank you so very much!
The style of this write is beautiful and actually captivating, and I loved it! I'm awed and honored that you wrote this for me...
I will be passing through probably 2 or 3 times a week or so...more if I get a chance. As my kids demand more of my time with THEIR on-the-way baby, my time will become more and more limited, but I will certainly be here as much as I can.
A hug of gratitude and thanks to you, Tristan...

a beautiful dedication and farewell wish!!  Glata will definitely be missed!  Maybe we can coax her to stop in from time to time with poems brimming with love for her sha-baby...and you know how grammas  love sharing a picture or two...This really is a beautiful poem, well constructed.
