"Be Home Soon"
"Hey baby, I'll be home soon"
"Yes baby I'll get her from soccer"
This call is so important
Couldn't just pull over and talk
I have to risk your lives
Because I'm so important
I can talk and drive
I'm just fine
Drifted into the other lane
But it's not my fault
I'm a great driver
Kept on talking
Not paying attention
Hung up the phone
Oops forgot to tell her something
Pull out my phone
Start to text
Because I'm so great
Hit an oncoming car
But it wasn't my fault
I drove just fine
The other driver is dead
But it's not my fault
She left a family
But still it wasn't my fault
She drove into me
Wasn't because I was texting or talking
It was because the other person
Was minding her own business.

Very creative and funny -- if it did not scream the truth so loudly and penetrate our hearts with the pain of someone having to pay the ultimate price for someone else's stupidity.   Thought-provoking for some that should be condemning for others.  Nice work.  Tristan

I am infuriated when I see someone driving down the road with a phone stuck in their ear. Very few conversations are so important that it can't wait instead of endangering others. lol loved your poem and now I'm done ventig :]
