The golden sun glistens across the well hidden path beyond all the horizons.  Bolts of lightning, and sounds of thunders, seem to shake the earth, dry to its solid bones, while hail, and rain come shattering down one by one, across every dark and dreary alley.  The clouds move in an endless motion, across the hazy fog.  The ashes from melted fire, seems to blaze on every street corner.  Then suddenly, their beyond the obvious of self pity and self doubt, the heart of soldier, becomes entangled and dies, in the line of fire.   While many of us, back at home, pray  for those lost and divine soldiers, who have lost there life in the line of hell, of which we call war.  To be a soldier, is to be a Hero, and to stand strong and help fight for our country.  To be a soldier, takes bravery, honor and courage, of which most of us wish we had.  As you go on with life, and feel like complaining, about small things.  Remember Three Things:  Today, a soldier will be sent to another country to fight in the war.  Today a soldier has died, and today a Soldier will come home.  The love that a soldier has for his country  not a million words, couldn’t say it all, but the courage that it takes to go out there and place your life, on the line is more powerful than you and I.

A soldier gives all that he has to give, his life for his country.  Very admirable sacrifice that he's willing to make.  What a beautiful tribute to our soldiers Samantha.  Outstanding write!

I read this with pride as I am a US Army veteran, having served 5 TODs in Iraq, until injured. I wish I was able to go back...but due to my injury, I've been discharged. This is a great poem and we put our lives on the line and are willing to die for our country regardless if this country supports us or not. We leave behind our friends and family to protect those we love and to try and make this world a better and safer place for the future.

I really enjoyed reading this. GREAT WORK!
