Treasures of Life

Diamonds shine in darkened skies

flowers in winter grow

warmth of a roaring fire

a clear path in the snow.

Rainbows in the evening mist

arch spectrum in the blue

butterflies on the wing

colors of many hues.

Moonbeams glisten on waters still

chase shadows from the night

morning birds blissfully sing

then gracefully take flight.

Your friendship fills me just the same

as these occurrence’s do to me

I will hold you tender to my heart

as nature does to these.

In simple elegance, you've described what it is to be a friend.  Using very descriptive word choices, you've painted a beautiful picture of life, those with whom you share it, and how you carry it close to you in your heart.  Wonderful poetry --  emotive power in magical flow.  Take care.  Tristan
