Across the Seas

Standing on the rocks looking out to sea

Waves lapping at the shore in a gentle caress

Winds of change blow full the sails of desire

My thoughts ride the ocean of need and love

Imagination unfurls the restriction of distance

Closing my eyes, you materialize before me

My hands slip into yours and we hold tight

Feeling the warmth of each otherís touch spread

I open my eyes to empty arms and a heavy heart

Only in my mind does your touch linger still

Ocean breeze swirling around in a dance of loneliness

Tears of longing flow freely from my eyes

My future ruled by hope in the journey of dreams

Fear not my prince for you are king of my heart

The same winds of change will bring me to you

Time and distance will be conquered by love

Wow Melody this is an incredible poem.  I've barely gotten on this website recently because I only write poetry time to time when thoughts race through my head, but I must say I always end up back looking at your page, and your poems.  I can feel myself inside of them, it's so amazing.  You truly do have such an incredible talent.

Melody I was hooked from the first line, till the very last one, which stole my senses. This was brilliant.. Each word lasted on my thoughts and your imagery was perfection.. What a beauty indeed..

Loved it.

Melody I looking out at the ocean right now wondering what the tide is going to bring in from your pen again. Our hearts can feel like a heavy plate at times don't ever let it anchor your pen. Keep up the good work.

This is lovely Melody.

May the winds of change blow your courses together so you walk hand in hand by the sea once more.

"Winds of change blow full the sails of desire My thoughts ride the ocean of need and love...." - wow.  this is wonderful.  you know by now that using the sea as a metaphor will always capture me, but the way you connect the vast restlessness of the ocean to the restlessness within you heart - all i can say is "wow."  and the way you conclude, with the ray of hope - again - "wow."  exceptional work, ms chilly berry
