Tomb Of The Hourglass
Looking deep into the hourglass
I watch as the sands fall through
From the top to the bottom
The sand does fall as do the feelings
And emotions of us all
As the sands fall
Sadness comes unto us all
And when you turn it over and start again
The sadness only deepens

I am as the sand inside
I am only doing as I am directed
I go up I go down never sideways for I am limited
When will I be set free
I wish to be as sand in the sea
Please one day shatter the glass
Throw me in the air and let me pass

For the sands of time
I am part of them
I am collapsing upon the other sands
Inside this glass tomb I must endure
As I watch all the world pass me by
I am stuck in this cage
I have no way to get out
So all I do is silently shout to the people who hear me not

Oh but alas one day
A young man on a Sunday
Came into the room and saw my tomb
He took pity upon us the sand
He somehow could hear me
He heard my screams clearly
I begged for him to show me pity and shatter the glass
He looked at me somewhat gloomy
He said I'm like you I am in a tomb as well
My parents keep me locked in my room
Not allowed to go outside or see anyone else
We are the same you see, your in a glass tomb
I am in one of the mind deep inside I see visions I cry
I beg to live them out, I now come here to therapy
I see you and I see me, we are one and the same
Our minds are deranged I shall set you free from yourself

This child spoke clearly, and with his hands he did free me
He took my tomb of glass and shattered it upon the ground
Opened up the window, and stuck his hand stretched out wide
As the therapist walked inside it was far too late the wind took me away
I shouted back to him, in his tomb I will find him
As he helped free me I will help free him from the tomb he built within
Know now why I last, for my immortal tomb was glass
A mere pleasant word set me free, So why can you no longer see
It's quite easy, if you will just listen to me
Your mind is the tomb your locked in your room
But do not ever give in, keep on hoping
And one day someone will show you
The exit you wish for the key to the door
For when the tomb is opened
The door unlocked you will feel the wind lift you up

For you the calm breeze shall set your soul free

I enjoyed reading this and could feel  and relate to be trapped.  I do like how in the end there is hope.  Hope is a very special and sometimes elusive feeling.  To be able to have it is a gift and I'm glad the boy was still waiting and anticipating to be freed from the room(weather it be released from his mental strife or his physical isolation) that bound him.
Good write.
