Upon The Land Of Lust
I came to the beginning of the realm of lust
The place were those who gave into their sinful desires
Bear ridden across the land
Sown together in a sickened grotesque fashion
Bodies bare naked sown together in sexual positions
The bodies were not dead but alive, moaning
Longing for the ones they lust after

In this wretched place my heart became heavy
The desires of my flesh began to boil as a blue flame
I longed for the touch of the wicked flesh
My heart and soul became so very heavy
It was almost unbearable
But the spirit gave me strength
And I continued to walk on through this sinful wood
There were so many faces here, screaming in agony
Longing for the relief that would not come

Upon my journey I came across a man
He begged me please, poet, stop and listen for a time
I, seeing the man shedding tears of sorrow, agreed to listen to the man
For a time, I sat in aw, hearing the mans tale, he said unto me
"I have been among this land for far too long, I was unfaithful to my family
I cheated on my wife with a woman I knew not
The desire I felt was too great for my weakened soul
I gave into the desires of my flesh and laid with the woman
For many a days and nights I lied to my wife, and to my children
I told them daddy would never do such horrors to mommy, I lied
I betrayed my family, and my friends, I have regretted these deeds for a lifetime
I ask of thee poet, I know you are not a savior nor a redeemer,
But may I ask of thee one thing, can thou pray for my damned soul
Ask the Lord to forgive me for my sins, I long to see my family again in paradise"

The man's story was touching unto my soul, he longed for redemption
I, being a man, not an angel, could sense the man's suffering and agony
For this man, who longed for the sight of his loved ones, I asked the lord for this man
If none other leave this desolate place, let this one, pass on to paradise, so that he may
One day see his loved ones again, for he is a just Lord, may he allow this soul to pass

With my parting from the man, and the prayer said, I continued on
I fell upon a wretched soul, one so filled with lust it was as if the circle was made
Only for her own sinful deeds, her flesh reeked of several men's scents
Her name was Cleopatra, queen of the nile
Her flesh was glowing, never before had I felt such desires
She reached for my hand and whispered into my ears
"come with me mortal, and I shall make all your dreams reality,
Your wishes will be reality, and your deepest desires fulfilled"

I began to walk closer to her, as if her flesh was a magnet to my soul
No, I screamed, as I cam to my senses, I long not for your wretched flesh demon
You are the result of men's weakened souls, their desires created your reign
You were a ruler of men's souls by fulfilling their desires
I long not for your flesh, begone, and let me pass on beyond your sickened sight
She at first denied me my will, continuing to press the matter of flesh meeting
But my path was a divine one, and her sin could not block my goal to press onward
Leaving the land of lust, my heart felt lifted, as if I had faced one of my own weaknesses
This truly is a wretched place.

Author's Notes:
My journey through lust and the meeting of a repenting soul, my next journey is into the circle of gluttony.

You are painting such truly vivid and heart-felt scenes.  This is really very good writing.
