nothing like a fool
nothing like a fool
    who believes the moon
        only shines for you

a pink glow escapes
    from behind the curtain
        of night clouds

will the cool blue rays
    ever shine again through
         your open skylight?

and bathe your pillow
    with filtered dreams
        and haunting memories?

or must you make
     a special appointment
          for his undivided time?

your window is not
    the only stop on his
       busy nightly sky route

nothing like a fool
    who assigns the moon
the task of looking after you

Fools are found in our reflection. Mirrors never lie. Just some words Linda. Good poem.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the moon or an x lover.

WOW!  I love this poem Linda Jo.  I take it to mean that the moon shines on all lovers not just on one so a person can't expect it to look after just his/her lover, because it is busy looking after all the lovers the whole world over.  Only a fool would think it will stop and look after just one person.  You know it has to keep moving around the world.  So well written.  Damon

I understand this to mean someone has less attention from another whom they are accustomed to receiving it from and is feels like they have been played for a fool. Excellent penning Linda Jo...you've done a great job with this.

I love the style and message of this poem.  It's almost light and I can hear the musical bells tinkle along with it's beat.  But the message goes much deeper. That's what makes a great poem.  It can be interpreted in various ways.  This is lovely.
