A time to grieve
How does one deal With the pain and grief When someone dear Is taken from us like a thief   The initial instinct Is to curl up and die Then the grief eases As time goes by   All you can do Is the best that you can When a loved one passes It's hard to understand   Though pain is now Etched upon your face With the passing of time A smile will take it's place   Until that time Grieve as you must do Remember through it all I'll be here for you
Author's Notes:
Dear Cindy,
I know how much you must be going through right now. I am deeply sorry for your loss, but know that I am here for you if you need me.

That’s sweet Henry…you’re a dear heart; always there to lend a shoulder, ear or hand…

You’re right…in the moment when we’re dealing with such pain we lose all perspective.

It’s important to give ourselves time to grieve and also time to heal before making major decisions again.

Well expressed…I think you touched every important base there in the survival technique to apply when deeply grieved…

Maybe in a few months you’ll add a "turn to God for comfort, strength and support” to that poem…that’s the only thing I would add to your suggestions, myself.

A wonderful and warm dedication my friend.  Grief is so personal and I wonder sometimes if we really get over it, or do we just get used to it?  *sigh*  I am still not used to it ...

Life is such a miracle,
with ups and downs along the way.
But every heart song is quite lyrical
with something blessed to say. -

You are a kind soul Henry.  A very kind soul.  I loved this.  ~Pamela   @--->---

Grieving is a process....we go through stages and finally find a place of peace in time. Friends are there to give us hope and encouragement and light the way with love and compassion.
How beautiful and sweet you are my dear friend. Truly, you show your sensitive and caring side to me on a daily basis....and even in your poetry. Thank you Henry.
