Breathing
Breathing

Have you ever thought about breathing?
Like you stop to think about what your seeing.
I do more often than not.
When the air comes in at times so hot.
My chest begins to lock.
These photos I'm trying so hard to block.
But, then it completely takes hold.
That's when all my tears flowed.
I think of your touch.
But, the pain I feel is just too much.
The last time we were together.
I thought that maybe we could just have forever.
In those small moments I had hope.
Because, the reality is that I just can't cope.
My breaths are shorter now.
The sweat starts to drip from my brow.
It's over finally over.
No sign of danger.
I can take one more breath.
Before I finally face my death.

Death of the old you, birth of the new some day soon...People come in and out and parts of us leave with them.  Great expression of emotions in this poem.  I enjoyed reading it!

Breath, without it, we are done.     Keep breathing gal.  We are listening to you.
Good poem 'cept for the last line.  The second to last line is my favorite.                   Gene
