The salty breeze of the ocean
The gulls making noise in the distance
The soft sand underneath the feet
The splash of the waves as they hit the shore
Looking onward into the distance
Picturing how it would feel
Just to let the ocean carry me away
Walking down to the shore
As my feet sink into the sand
The cool salty wind comes off the ocean hits my face
I close my eyes as it soothes my soul
The waves get louder
As the tide starts to rise
The cool ocean water hits my feet
Bringing me into a state of relaxation
As I wonder what could be better than a nice soothing day on the shore.

I think on the most basic of levels, we all feel that connection to the sea...Deep within us, we know the sea was our birthplace..I don't believe in a higher power either, and neither does God...:o)..len

Lovely descriptive poem Scott...I wanted to be there walking on the shore too. The picture is a great addition to the piece and even better that it is one of your own. What a great way to combine your talents. Enjoyed!!! This is a favorite place for me too...very relaxing indeed.
