Guess What
It's been a while since you've been gone.
So many things have happened
Since your no longer around
Guess what daddy I got married
To a girl I know you would have loved
Guess what daddy
I moved away from home
To be with my wife
To start a new life
Guess what daddy
We had our first Christmas together
Wish you could have been around
Wish you could have enjoyed it with us
Wish you were here
While we said our I do's
Wish you could have been here
Just so you could have been in my life
Wish you didn't have to go
To be with the man up above
Its been a few years
Since you have been gone
But I can never seem to let go
That you really are gone
It feels like yesterday we were walking down the streets
Talking about life
Said how you wanted me to have a girl
Made that come true
I just miss you
On each holiday
All I can think of is you
Merry Christmas dad
Happy New Year dad
Hope you knew
How much I truly loved you
How much I miss you
How much I needed you in my life
You were a fighter
You were a winner
Until that one cold day
Your body could no longer fight

This is so full of love for your dad.  What's not to love about it?  You shared your grief with us and well as how wonderful your dad was to you.  Great job on it.

Scott,  I'm sure your Father knew you loved him very much! Its a God given blessing that you had a chance to spend what time with him on earth! remember though, just because he's gone does not mean he's gone for good! Apart of your wonderful Father lives on through you! Someday you two will reunite again on that heavenly shore! This was such a heart felt write to read! But I anm truly blessed I had the oppertuinity to read it!

May God Bless You,

A very beautiful piece. Lost my father 22 years ago and I still think about him every day.

This was beautiful, it has a very calming tone. And though it is sad, it still leaves you with some sense of happiness. Loved it....
