Stars Collide

Cheeks wet from tears.

Her body heals.

Aching heart,

Letís hit rewind.

Down the road,

A car unseen,

The lights are off,

Nobodyís near.

Two seconds later,

A child comes out.

He runs and runs.

Carís out of sight.

Slowly getís closer.

Two of them collide.

The stars had crashed.

Their lifeís shorter now.

The child is dead.

No questions asked.

The driver confessed,

Too many drinks for one night.

This reminds me of something my parents told me when I was little...They used to tell me when I was really little in Texas that and big truck crashed through my bedroom door and that they were scared cuz I wouldn't wake up...I was very young...Young than six I think...They told me that he was drunk and they showed me a picture one time...We still have it...But I don't remember a thing to this day...It's the first time I shared that story...This is a tragic story and you tell it briefly but so very well

I pray that is not true.  Everyone should have to read it before they go out drinking.
Sad, but it does happen.        Gene
