Part I: A World Gone Cold - The Journey
Kill the stars, leave for the galaxy
Save a few for a constant reminder
On your way through the atmosphere
Deny the evidence of a mess your own

Put a helping hand in a catastrophe
Save some time for your insipid trip
Above the clouds, it is all so clear
Just scratching the surface of doom

Fly on, spaceman, you're doing God's work
Follow the trail that they left for you
Chase the shadows that the footprints lurk
Avert the satellites that know what you do

From where you hover, I guess you can see
A trail of tears in the form of this debris
Get the remaining marbles, eight into seven
Infiltrate the others on your way to heaven

So go find another rock to call home
Save for the population left behind
Adapt with your gadgets and machines
Plant the flag, find you're not alone

Stake your claim, see the others roam
Staring back in awe at this lonely man
Left behind a rock so dry and unclean
Your habits will not be tolerated here

Goodbye spaceman, find heaven the hard way
Another pit stop from which to be cast off
Your vitals gone, no one hears what you say
They all polluted your last feeding trough

Maybe you're not the only maverick up here
No one else naive enough, you scream in fear
A supernova blasts, once your home and land
Not even space wants in on your doomed plan

The only Sun you see is now in front of you
The true benefactor of the life you wasted
And you pray to the cosmos
God has failed you miserably
And the sky opens up, the planets all align

The cosmos sees your effort and absolves you
You couldn't save them all, this is survival
And you gently float away
Not to heaven, but eternity
You can't save the world, now save yourself

Earth in its pristine form...
Laying ahead of you.
